Mounted my S2Gold image and gave it the path to its S2 directory as the new installer asked but it won't allow me to click "Next". The button remains grey. Is this a bug or a problem on my side?

Excited to see the new version. Already love how you've spiced up the installer.

It this the path where the GFX and DATA folders can be found? The installer tries its best to find them in the default paths, but this of course may go wrong.

I updated the installer and I hope it works now. Please provide some feedback. Thank you!

Works perfectly now. I run Win7-x64 and it installs as an x86 application though. Not a big issue of course.

Love how you made it auto-update the OGG songs. They're really nice.

For 64bit Windows, you have to install the 64bit version by yourself.

Thanks for reporting the dead links. Have a look at the links in the first post. They should work.

Also, the Installer should automatically detect whether there is a 32 or 64-bit installation of windows and install the files accordingly.

posix am 05.10.2012 19:05 #10703

My point is that it should install the correct version by itself.

Stahlseele am 06.10.2012 02:46 #10704

So, there a changelog somewhere?
Any major changes from the last nightly?
Anything you are especially proud of having accomplished?

That's what it is supposed to do and did for Spikeone. There may be issues with the NSIS installer regarding certain versions of windows, otherwise I'm not sure why it does not work.

The changelog is huge and we did not have the time to summarize it so far, as development goes on. I generated a changelog starting after the release of 0.7.2 until the release of 0.8. You can find it here (647 commits):

Marcus, are you the developer of the project? Always thought it was Spike until he told me he wasn't.

Win7 professional x64 here. So this is a question of the installer and not your own code? Recently installed some Piriform tools on various systems. They install as x64 and x86 depending on the system. Perhaps they use a freeware installer?

Stahlseele am 06.10.2012 14:53 #10707

oh my god that is huge @.@

Yes, I am. I also created the installer using NSIS.

This is a question of the installer. We use a freeware (or rather GPL) installer, too. We did not develop the installer, we only 'told' the installer what files need to be copied.

This is so awesome. I just played a quick match against the AI with a high game speed. The sea warfare is really well done and the ships behave intelligently. This has always been a big drawback in the original. However if there is too few stone near the AI start it will break it's economy and expansion. This happened in Demo V016 rmp when the AI got the right spot.

I created an RPM at http://software.opensuse.org/package/s25rttr for version 0.8 and http://software.opensuse.org/package/s25rttr-demoloader for your convenience.
